Library

Library Objectives:

• To foster a learning environment that encourages investigation, allows for independent thinking, and develops effective study habits for all ages and abilities.

• To provide an opportunity for students to develop the skills and attitudes which will encourage school library usage.

• To provide materials that support the curriculum, student interests, and staff needs as funds are available.

• To model the integration of technology in the curriculum for students and teachers.

The New Covenant Academy Librarian:

• teaches all students at New Covenant Academy Elementary.

• cooperatively develops a plan for selection and evaluation of materials.

• coordinates and prepares books and materials for circulation from the school library.

• assists students in making wise selection of reading materials.

• encourages students and their family members to read.

• participates as a member of the New Covenant community in doing whatever is necessary to ensure every child receives the best education possible.
